CIRCUIT

The Losail International Circuit is located in the vicinity of Doha, the capital of Qatar.

Inaugurated on the occasion of the Marlboro Grand Prix of Qatar on October 2, 2004.

The track has an extension of 5,400 meters, surrounded by areas of synthetic green designed to prevent the surrounding desert sand to invade the track. The main straight has a length of over a kilometer, the rest of the track is a calibrated mix of fast and medium curves, including a couple of fast lefts that have a certain popularity among the pilots.

In 2008 Qatar celebrated the first night GP in history, following the construction of a permanent lighting system. The switch to night racing was a success, turning this event into one of the most spectacular on the MotoGP calendar.
